Thanks for the link to Songailo’s work. Like the mola, his art lacks mechanical symmetry, but manages an infused harmony – something like nature itself.

In the “website” window I linked another artist who has built from the mola (she lived in Panama as a child), incorporated art styles from a variety of other countries (she traveled extensively through Asia, India, and the Middle East), and has created a unique, raw, and colorful style of her own.

These are wonderful. Red Riding Hood has seeped into Western unconsciousness and I love to see whatever dance the wolf and girl are doing when different artists play the tune. Sometimes the wolf gets the girl and sometimes the girl gets the wolf. Wow. Thanks! Jerome
